2. I dont know what OS you are using But if you go on control panel_click on Network and Internet_click on Internet Option_click Delete_and you will see everything that can delete on your computer (Those step are exactly for Vista, but there are almost the same for XP)
3. CCleaner with the secure delete option (you can choose from 1 overwrite up to Gutmann Protocol 35 pass overwrite) is pretty well cleaning up your tracks. The same company ,Piriform,also makes a program called Recuva. It is really designed to recover files that have been deleted (non-secure delete),but it also allows you to see the files on your computer that have been deleted but not yet overwritten. It also allows you to secure delete them. Unless you are downloading Al-Qaeda attack plans,these two should pretty well serve the normal slightly paranoid user. both programs are free.
